The Manor Maasai Mara
Last Updated : February 2026

1. OUR COMMITMENT TO ACCESSIBILITY
The Manor Maasai Mara is committed to ensuring that our luxury safari experience is accessible to all guests, including those with disabilities, special needs, or mobility challenges. We strive to provide an inclusive, welcoming environment in compliance with the Persons with Disabilities Act, 2003 (No. 14 of 2003) of Kenya and Article 54 of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010, which protects the rights and dignity of persons with disabilities.
This Accessibility Statement outlines the measures we have implemented, the current limitations of our facilities, and our ongoing commitment to improving accessibility at our property.

2. PHYSICAL ACCESSIBILITY OF OUR PROPERTY
2.1 Villa Access
Our two luxury villas feature single-level layouts with wide doorways and open-plan living spaces. However, we acknowledge that our property was not originally designed with full wheelchair accessibility in mind. We are actively working to improve access for guests with mobility challenges.

2.2 Bathroom Facilities
All bathrooms feature spacious walk-in showers. While not all bathrooms are currently equipped with grab bars or raised toilet seats, these can be installed upon request with advance notice. Master suites include jacuzzi tubs with support features.

2.3 Common Areas

Swimming pools feature graduated entry steps with handrails
Outdoor terraces and viewing decks have level access
Rooftop sundowner area has stairway access (elevator not available)
Dining and living areas feature open layouts with ample space for mobility aids

3. ACCESSIBLE SAFARI EXPERIENCES

3.1 Game Drive Vehicles
Our 8-seater Land Cruisers are equipped with pop-up roofs for wildlife viewing. While the vehicles are not wheelchair-accessible, our experienced guides provide assistance with boarding and can accommodate guests with limited mobility. Alternative seating arrangements can be made upon request.

3.2 Wildlife Viewing
Guests who prefer not to participate in traditional game drives can enjoy wildlife viewing from the comfort of their villa's rooftop terraces. The Masai Mara's abundant wildlife frequently passes around the property.

3.3 Alternative Activities
We offer flexible activity schedules and can arrange private, customized experiences to accommodate guests with different abilities and preferences, including in-villa wildlife presentations, cultural visits, and relaxation experiences.

4. SPECIALIZED SERVICES AND SUPPORT
4.1 Pre-Arrival Planning
We encourage guests with accessibility needs to contact us before booking so we can discuss specific requirements and ensure we can accommodate your needs appropriately. Our team will work with you to plan a comfortable and enjoyable stay.

4.2 Personalized Assistance

Dedicated staff assistance for guests requiring mobility support
Modified meal service to accommodate dietary restrictions and eating assistance

4.3 Medical Accommodations
While we do not have on-site medical facilities, we can arrange for medical professionals to visit the property if needed. We maintain relationships with evacuation services and medical facilities in Nairobi for emergency situations. Guests requiring ongoing medical care should bring necessary medications and equipment.

4.4 Communication Support
Our multilingual staff can communicate in English, Swahili, and local Maasai languages. For guests with hearing impairments, we can provide written communication and visual aids. Advanced notice helps us arrange specialized communication support if needed.

5. DIGITAL ACCESSIBILITY

5.1 Website Accessibility
We are committed to making our website (www.themanormaasaimara.com) accessible to all users. We strive to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA standards. Our website features:

5.2 Booking Accessibility
Guests who experience difficulties using our online booking system can contact us directly via phone or email. Our staff will assist with the reservation process and ensure all accessibility requirements are documented and communicated.

6. KNOWN ACCESSIBILITY LIMITATIONS
We recognize that our property has certain limitations for guests with significant mobility challenges:

No wheelchair-accessible game drive vehicles currently available
Rooftop areas require stair access (no elevator)
Outdoor pathways may be uneven due to natural terrain
Limited medical facilities on-site (remote location)
No specialized equipment for hearing or vision impairments (can be arranged with advance notice)

7. ONGOING IMPROVEMENTS
We are committed to continuously improving accessibility at The Manor Maasai Mara. Current and planned improvements include:

Installation of additional grab bars and handrails in bathrooms
Procurement of mobility aids (wheelchairs, walkers) for guest use
Enhanced pathway lighting for guests with vision impairments
Staff training on disability awareness and assistance techniques
Exploration of accessible safari vehicle options

8. SERVICE ANIMALS
While pets are generally not permitted due to wildlife safety concerns, we recognize the important role of certified service animals. Guests traveling with service animals must provide advance notice and documentation. Special arrangements will be made to accommodate service animals while ensuring the safety of all guests and wildlife. Service animals must remain leashed or harnessed at all times and under the handler's control.
